Is Popzy a medical device?

No. Popzy is a contraction timer, not a medical device. It records how long your contractions last and how far apart they are and compares them with the rule you chose. It cannot tell how labor is progressing, and it does not replace your midwife, doctor or maternity unit. If you are unsure about anything, call them.
What Popzy does
- Times each contraction with one tap to start and one to end.
- Shows the gap between contractions, measured start to start.
- Compares the last hour with your rule (5-1-1, 4-1-1, 3-1-1 or your own) and lets you know when it matches.
- Keeps a history you can share with your care team.
- Offers a breathing guide, calming sounds, labor positions, a labor guide and a hospital bag checklist.
What Popzy does not do
Popzy does not examine you, measure your cervix or listen to your baby. It cannot tell whether contractions are labor or practice, and it cannot tell you that everything is fine. A matching pattern means "time to call your provider", not "time to go" on its own. Your provider's advice always comes first.
